There’s a lot of great positions over on the Community Guy Jobs Board, but every once in a while I get excited about one job in particular that I see posted. In fact, I’m going to start a new series, focused on highlighting some of those great positions, just to help with the current job environment however possible.
The first Cool Job Alert comes from my former boss at LEGO, a fantastic guy running a fun team.
The LEGO Group is looking for an experienced Online Community Lead to join our Community team. Reporting to the Head of LEGO Community Development, you will be leading LEGO community building in the online space targeting several LEGO user audiences aged 13 and older. Our user audiences include adult and teenage LEGO fans, teachers, gamers, parents, organizations and “creative minds” with high LEGO affinity.
Spearhead LEGO community development online
Your overall focus will be on two significant development projects that are strategic priorities for the LEGO Group. One of these projects focuses on growing connectivity among LEGO users and online visibility of user created LEGO content. The other project relates to user involvement in LEGO Universe, a LEGO MMOG currently in development.
Your work will involve mapping and benchmarking of the LEGO online community and follow-up on key metrics. Also, you will develop and implement business plans for the “Online Community Innovation” area. As team leader and strategist, you will ensure holistic project planning and execution from a company overall perspective. Finally, you will play a crucial part in establishing and maintaining strong networks with key stakeholders – including volunteer lead users – across and beyond the company.
