It’s Day 3 of our quest to learn about the impact of sharing on communities. We’ve learned the value of trust and we’ve been reminded of the importance of opening ourselves up, so what’s next?
Great results come when communities and companies share openly. In order to encourage a sharing culture, you need to work to create conditions that allow for that culture to flourish. Creating these conditions are easy – focus on putting others first.
Make community members and customers understand that you’re hanging around so that you can help out, help to deliver what they might be interested in. Prove to your customers that you’re here to help and they’ll be much more willing to share with you, and receive what you’re sharing with them.
Day 3 Challenge:
In the spirit of putting others first, today’s challenge empowers you to choose someone else who will get the prize! Here’s how it works:
- Pick the blogger, community member, or other online person of interest. (If you need suggestions, check out the Z-Listers)
- Post a comment in this thread with their name, URL, and the reason why you’re so impressed with them. Make this reason impressive and unique! (We all love Guy Kawasaki, but find someone a bit more unknown if you want to win)
- I’ll pick my favorite choice from the comments posted and send that blogger a $15 iTunes Gift Card with a note that you (yes, you) are responsible for their win fall.
