If you thought the recording industry was having “problems” from the changes in consumer usage of music, take a look at the radio industry. Those folks are hurting.
I got a direct mail piece a few days ago from a local radio station. This flyer had a big slogan across the back:
With Jack FM you can download over 300 free songs per day (no computer required)
An interesting attempt to say that you don’t need your iPod because they’re here for you. Cute. Sad, but cute.
Of course, I then opened it up to find a promotion to give away a free mini iPod. Sorta killed the whol concept…
